Introduction
In 1983, Amitabh Bachchan was seen in movie places in a bright red top and an arm band that had Billa Number 786 on it. He was singing “Saari Duniya ka bojh hum uthaate hain.” Forty-two years on, Movie Rajinikanth was seen walking into cinemas with the same tag but now with more style, now with Billa Number 5812.
Both coolies had one big thing the same – a star that could hold up the whole movie sale spot. This time, the charm was made real through the Baap Masala Films way, showing off the strength of Nagarjuna and the strong pull of Upendra & Aamir Khan with Rajinikanth’s great charm.
Script Review
When a movie shows Rajinikanth, you know that sense and logic aren’t what the crowd cares for most. Rather, it’s his pure charm, big star vibe, and bold show on screen that make them come. Baap Masala Films gets this well, and Coolie The Powerhouse was made just with that idea in mind.
The movie moved back and forth in time. Deva, played by Rajinikanth, had quit his job as a coolie and left his old drinking ways, now in charge of Deva Mansion. On the other side, Simon, acted by Nagarjuna, ran an illegal group. His right-hand man, Dayal (Soubin Shahir), had to find the cop hiding among many workers.
Soon, Dayal took control by ending the life of the mole. Now, the big worry was if there were more spies.Deva’s quiet life broke when his close friend Rajashekar (Sathyaraj) died in a way that did not look right. Rajashekar’s three girls thought Deva was to blame, feeling they all had the same loss.
But Deva knew that his friend did not die by chance. It was a killing, he was sure. He swore to get back at those responsible and Rajashekar’s girl, Preeti (Shruti Haasan), joined him, though she wasn’t sure at first. Together, they started a road that showed how strong friendship and unity can be.
Big Show
The key time came when Upendra & Aamir Khan, with Movie Rajinikanth, were in one shot. This part was a big cheer for star power. This could have been even better with the addition of Nagarjuna.
The movie had a good showing despite a not so strong script by Lokesh Kanagaraj due to the presence of Rajinikanth in the movie. People whistle every word he says, proving that people of the north love him as well. Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan and Soubin Shahir maintained the plot and ensured that it did not fall. The ensemble was appropriate and this was sufficient to drive the film.
Direction & Plan
Lokesh Kanagaraj made the film as a nod, not a part of any big movie world. He planned it to stand alone, out of respect for Rajinikanth’s movie past. By this choice, he kept the core of Baap Masala Films alive — wild action, deep connections, and big hero acts.
The way the film was made mixed old and new in a style that let people feel the good old days while keeping up with the story now. Big sets, cool fight scenes, and slow-mo shots all kept our eyes on Movie Rajinikanth. Nagarjuna and Upendra & Aamir Khan got parts that fit well with the main story.
Music & Film Charm
The music was made to boost the cool of Movie Star Rajinikanth, each sound fitting his moves. The crowd’s cheers showed that the tunes had made the feel of Baap Masala Films stronger.
The movie used bright colors, strong light, and big places. The style fit well with how Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Aamir Khan act, keeping a steady feel all through. Dance parts were few but set just right to keep the flow going between lots of action and deep feelings.
Conclusion
Coolie The Powerhouse had reaffirmed that whenever Movie Rajinikanth is headlining, the logic of the plot takes a backseat to the experience. The mixing of Baap Masala Films looks, the presence of Nagarjuna, and the star power of Upendra & Aamir Khan had made the movie a crowd-puller.
Man, those 2 hours and 48 minutes just zipped by—yeah, the whole thing was over the top, but honestly, that’s what everyone came for, right? Sure, the script had a few potholes here and there (hey, nothing’s perfect), but the cast? Absolutely on fire.
And can we talk about Lokesh Kanagaraj for a sec? The guy basically crafted a cinematic fan letter—full-on tribute mode—to the superstar, and judging by the crowd’s wild reaction, it totally hit home.
